Presidents Day Camp: Lost Egypt – Ancient Astronomy
Monday, February 18
8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Explore ancient tools used by Egyptians to understand the cosmos. Make sundials and astrolabes as you learn how ancient Egyptians studied the universe. Experience the STARLAB Planetarium, explore the brand-new exhibition, Lost Egypt, and watch the OMNIMAX movie, Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs. Grades K-8. $42 ($39 members). LEGO Workshop: Egyptian Adventure – 2 sessions available!

9 am – noon (morning session)
1 – 4 pm (afternoon session)

Archeologists just discovered the tomb of an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh that is designed to keep out unwanted visitors! Navigate the terrain by building and programming a robot to look for treasures in the booby-trapped tomb. Grades 4-8. $20 ($15 members). Science is a girl thing!  Join us for a day-long workshop of hands-on sessions led by women working in science, technology, engineering and math.  Explore different careers, meet female student-scientists from local universities and engage in fun learning and group projects. Follow two astronauts through rigorous ground training as they embark on a mission into space! Learn how to build and program two high tech robots to help them survive their mission of discovery. Learn how to make robots move and how to effectively use sensors. Grades 4-8. $20 ($15 members).
