ABOUT THE CLASSES

Launch It

Stomp, blow, fizz and explode your own rockets, airplanes and catapults into space! Design, construct and test a variety of objects as you propel them higher and farther than you ever imagined while learning about Sir Isaac Newton and his three Laws of Motion. Enjoy the OMNIMAX movie Destiny in Space and end the day with an exciting indoor rocket launch during our Big Science Show!

BIG BANG!

Become a super-star as we cruise through an asteroid belt, discover black holes, eat astronaut ice cream and embark on a mission to outer space. Explore the night sky up close in the STARLAB planetarium and be transported into the Milky Way as you lose yourself in the OMNIMAX movie, Hubble.

LEGO: Ultimate Builder

Join us for a full day of LEGO! Campers in grades K – 3 will practice their speed building, try creative free building and compete in a series of LEGO challenges. Campers in grades 4 – 8 will design, program and build a working robot while learning how sensors can be used to make a robot react to its surroundings using the latest in LEGO NXT technology. Enjoy the OMNIMAX movie, Ultimate Wave Tahiti.

Ecology in a Bottle

Get ready to become one with the wild! Explore ecological principles in a small-scale world through the creation of an ecosystem that you can take home with you! Come face-to-face with a slithering snake, hissing cockroach and hairy tarantula! Find out how they interact with the environment and learn to identify those mysterious animals that share our world through tracks, sounds and even scat! Enjoy the OMNIMAX movie, Born to Be Wild.

Candyology

Explore the fascinating world of sweet treats! It’s food, it’s fun, it’s SCIENCE! In this chemistry-focused session, make liquid nitrogen ice cream and discover how much energy is stored in a gummy bear through an explosive demonstration! Have fun creating tasty experiments, transforming matter from one state to another, creating chemical interactions, and exploring the pH of various solutions. And the result? Taste science experiments that are DELICIOUS! Enjoy the OMNIMAX movie, Dolphins.
