Steamship William G. Mather at Great Lakes Science Center opens for the season with its slate of annual events, including hard-hat tours

Climb abroad this floating museum and discover a piece of Great Lakes history. Take a self-guided tour and explore this restored 618-foot freighter from stem to stern. See its huge cargo holds, brass and oak pilot house, elegant guest quarters and four-story engine room. Walk the decks and marvel at the “engineering firsts” that transformed Northeast Ohio into a great industrial center.

Explore the Mather like you never have before. Join us on this in-depth, hard hat tour and explore the behind-the-scenes of the Mather. Space is limited and advance reservations required. $20 per/person. Includes admission to the Steamship Mather after the tour. Call 216-621-2400 to register.

July 4 at 7 pm
Celebrate Independence Day from the decks of the Mather and watch Cleveland’s fireworks. Food and drinks can be purchased onboard. $15 ($12 members). Call 216-621-2400 to reserve tickets. Family 4-packs available.
