GREAT LAKES SCIENCE CENTER, HOME OF THE NASA GLENN VISITOR CENTER, TO HOST CLEVELAND’S 2ND ANNUAL YURI’S NIGHT SPACE PARTY IN APRIL

CLEVELAND (March 1, 2013) – The best party on the planet is back! On Saturday, April 13, from 8 pm to 1 am, Great Lakes Science Center will be “like no party on Earth” as it hosts Cleveland’s official Yuri’s Night Space Party.

Yuri's Night parties and events are held around the world every April in commemoration of April 12, 1961, the day of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin's first manned space flight, and April 12, 1981, the inaugural launch of NASA's Space Shuttle.

“As home of the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, we’re thrilled to host Cleveland's Yuri's Night celebration again this year for the 21 and over crowd as it honors the past, present and future of human space flight,” said Dante Centuori, director of creative productions at Great Lakes Science Center. “And timing couldn’t be more perfect as we’re opening our newly redesigned NASA Glenn Visitor Center this spring, which is themed around traveling to, living and exploring space.”

The event includes:
• Live music by The Floorwalkers – voted #1 people’s choice in Columbus (8-11 pm)
• Chicago DJ, OZMTZ, rockin’ the house (11 pm-1 am)
• Dancing all night long
• Sam Adams beer, Barefoot wine, Angry Orchard cider and light hors d’oeuvres included in ticket price
• Cash bar for cocktails and special treats
• Costume contest – wear your best space-themed attire
• Check out the newly redesigned NASA Glenn Visitor Center
• Get hands-on with hundreds of cool exhibits
• Special appearance by costumed members of The Great Lakes Base of the Rebel Legion and the Ohio Garrison/501st Legion
• Door prizes – win a Science Center membership and more
• Free parking in the Science Center’s garage

Early bird tickets are on sale now for $35 and available for purchase through Monday, March 18. General admission tickets are $50 and go on sale Tuesday, March 19. Tickets are available to purchase online through Saturday, April 13 at 5:30 pm. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the event for $50.This event is for ages 21 and over only.
