GREAT LAKES SCIENCE CENTER ELECTS NEW BOARD CHAIR AND NEW BOARD MEMBER
August 29th, 2012 CLEVELAND (August 29, 2012) – Great Lakes Science Center announces the appointment of a new board chair, Paul Dolan. Dolan is chairman and chief executive officer of the Cleveland Indians.
“We’re pleased to welcome Paul Dolan as board chair and appreciate his strong dedication to civic engagement here in Northeast Ohio,” said Don Paterson, interim president and chief financial officer of Great Lakes Science Center. “He is a respected leader in his field – one that will bring an unmatched commitment to the importance of providing informal science education to today’s youth.”
Dolan was named chairman and chief executive officer of the Cleveland Indians prior to the 2011 season. Previously, he was president since 2004 and vice president, general counsel with the Indians upon joining the organization in 2000.
In addition to Dolan’s appointment, the Science Center elected Tom Matthews as a new board member. Matthews is vice president of research and development of The Lincoln Electric Company.
