CMSD’s All-City Arts presents “2012 Rock Your World with Steam Family Event”May 8th, 2012 Cleveland, Ohio— Thousands of Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) students will display their talents at the 13th annual Rock Your World with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, ARTS and Math) Festival, on Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and Great Lakes Science Center. This much anticipated event, which is the result of a partnership between The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center (GLSC) and CMSD, is a one-of-a-kind, innovative, hands-on arts and science celebration held inside and outside both museums. The Festival is free and Northeast Ohio residents are invited to join the celebration.
Over 2,000 students from more than 40 CMSD K-8 and high schools will showcase their talents in dance, theatre, music, visual arts, hands-on science and much more to the Greater Cleveland community during Rock Your World. Choirs, vocal solos, dancing, jazz performances, African drumming, string and wind ensembles and other performances will take place throughout the day on seven stages between the Rock Hall and Great Lakes Science Center. Attendees can also catch a sneak peak of this year’s All-City musical, Footloose, on the Rock Hall’s Main Stage. The festival will also host a visual arts show and a STEAM Showcase display, featuring student projects infusing science and the arts by K-12 students.
The festival activities are FREE. Admission to Rock Hall exhibits requires a CMSD wristband. Admission to GLSC exhibits is offered to the first 1500 students and family members with a CMSD wristband.

The All-City Arts program builds upon and extends the arts curriculum taught by the District’s certified arts teachers. All-City offers students the opportunity to further develop their artistic talents through comprehensive, hands-on, project-based learning, and mentoring from arts professionals. Participation in All-City Arts contributes to students’ overall academic success, develops a deep sense of personal achievement, and introduces students to careers in the arts through exhibition and performance experiences.
