GREAT LAKES SCIENCE CENTER OFFERS FREE GENERAL ADMISSION ON MONDAY, JANUARY 16

CLEVELAND (January 6, 2012) – Great Lakes Science Center will offer free general admission on Monday, January 16 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, plus an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet and a $2 discount for the 5 pm showing of the OMNIMAX film, Dinosaurs Alive!

“Like many other cultural institutions and museums in Cleveland, we’re so proud to offer free admission to everyone in the community on such an important day for this country,” said Dr. Linda Abraham-Silver, president and CEO of Great Lakes Science Center. “We hope this offering gives families an excuse to enjoy a day together at the Science Center, one that is filled with learning and fun.”

Visitors are invited to:

• Explore their fears in the special exhibition, Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear!

• Tour the NASA Glenn Visitor Center and BioMedTech Gallery

• Have a ball in the Polymer Funhouse (ages 7 and under)

• Experience hundreds of hands-on and interactive exhibits

• Enjoy Big Science Shows and live demonstrations throughout the day

• And so much more!

Families can enjoy a tasty break from their exploration and visit the all-you-can-eat pizza buffet on Level 2 for lunch. The Elements CaFé will be open for lunch as well.

The OMNIMAX Theater will show The Ultimate Wave Tahiti at 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm, as well as Dolphins at 1 pm and 3 pm. There will also be two special showings of Dinosaurs Alive! at 11 am and 5 pm. Please note that regular OMNIMAX rates will apply for the 11 am, 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm movie showings. Guests will receive a $2 discount off the regular price of their OMNIMAX ticket for the 5 pm showing of Dinosaurs Alive!
