Design Squad Nation Day

Love the PBS show, Design Squad Nation? See hosts Nate and Deysi try engineering challenges inspired by the show, including:
- Touchdown: Create a platform that can safely cushion "astronauts" when they land on a table near you!
- Paper Table: See how strong of a table you can build out of paper.
- Electric Highway: Build a circuit that connects a battery and buzzer at least three feet apart using only four types of materials.
- Kicking Machine: Build a machine that kicks a Ping-Pong ball into a cup lying on its side 12 inches away.

See Nate and Deysi show off their dance moves with their giant Dance Pad - a supersized version of Design Squad Nation activity, complete with lights and sound. They'll illuminate how it works, how you can build your own version and allow members of the audience to try it out. Then between shows, watch Design Squad DIY challenge videos!
Participate in the “Invention Roadshow”
Noon – 1 pm
Just for kids! Bring in your inventions, share them with engineering experts and Design Squad Nation, and receive feedback on your ideas. Free Design Squad t-shirts available to kids who bring in an invention (while supplies last). No helium balloons or flames. Science Center staff will inspect every invention for safety concerns.
