Strange Matter
May 29, 2010 – January 3, 2011
Get ready for a totally hands-on experience and explore the hidden secrets of everyday “stuff.” Go ahead – crush stuff, zoom inside stuff, transform stuff. Who knew the world of materials science could be so much fun? Learn more about Strange Matter.
Strange Matter is presented by the Materials Research Society. This exhibition and its tour are made possible by the generous support of the National Science Foundation, Dow, Ford Motor Company Fund, Intel® Innovation in Education, Rio Tinto Alcan and the 3M Foundation. This local presentation is made possible by K12 and the Ohio Virtual Academy, The Lubrizol Foundation, Dominion Resources, Laurel, John P. Murphy Foundation and Timken. This exhibition is generously funded by the residents of Cuyahoga County through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.

Hubble
See it on the giant screen! Explore the mystery and grandeur of distant galaxies in the gripping story of the most iconic scientific instrument of our time: the Hubble Space Telescope. Get dates and show times.
Under the Sea
Experience movie magic and travel to beautiful and exotic undersea locations where you’ll come face-to-face with some of the most mysterious creatures of the sea. Get dates and show times.
Space Adventure
NASA Glenn Visitor Center 
Phase 1 is now open! Explore 20 exhibits including shuttle and rocket models, fly a flight simulator, check out a lunar lander model and more. Get details.
Space Week
July 19-25
It’s all space, all the time! Blast off for a week of space-themed events, programs and workshops. Be sure to catch the OMNIMAX film, Destiny in Space, showing for one week only. Check back soon for more information.
Space Sleepover
Friday, July 23
Here’s your chance to explore the Science Center after dark. Design a lunar lander, launch rockets and more. See NASA Glenn Visitor Center exhibits, watch the OMNIMAX movie, Hubble, and get hands-on with Strange Matter. Then grab your sleeping bag and spend the night. Great for families and youth groups. The fun starts at 7 pm and goes until 10 am the next morning. $39 ($35 members.) Register today at 216-621-2400.
Great Lakes Fun

Steamship William G. Mather
Climb aboard this historic Great Lakes freighter and tour its cargo holds, pilot house, guest quarters and engine room. Learn more about the Mather Steamship.

Rock and Boom
Sunday, July 4
6 pm
Celebrate Independence Day from the Mather decks and tour the boat. Enjoy fireworks at dusk. Food and drinks sold on board. Bring your own folding chair. $12. ($10 members.) Reserve your tickets at

Parade of Sail
Wednesday, July 7
4 – 7 pm
Watch the “Tall Ships” return to Cleveland from the decks of the Mather. Food and drinks sold on board. Bring a chair and enjoy the show. Boat Deck $15 ($13 members.)

Air Show Deck Party

10 am – 5 pm
